Heaven trap innovators and Icon Alumni duo SLANDER reflect on their experiences at the Collective and talk about their collaborative project.

Derek and Scott from the bass-music duo SLANDER visited the studios at Icon in Los Angeles to talk about their experiences at the Collective. The two also share insight into their collaborative project and their creative process. They discuss how taking music production courses catapulted their career. Derek and Scott also reveal their ambitions and open up about their live shows.

We’ve always had the dream of wanting to achieve being on a main stage at a major music festival. Icon was really the name that stood out to us whenever we bounced it off of other people we knew or meeting other students who graduated from Icon, and I couldn’t be happier. Scott Land

Known for their signature chord-driven ‘Heaven Trap’ sound, the LA duo has emerged as a prominent force with an arsenal of energetic trap stormers and dirty festival-style bangers. SLANDER has been throwing down on a regular, showing no sign of slowing down. With their breakout remixes of Above & Beyond’s ‘Love Is Not Enough’ and Showtek’s ‘We Like To Party’ with fellow Icon classmate NGHTMRE, SLANDER continuously keeps pushing out relentlessly vicious tunes and killing it on stages around the globe.
